Schilling and Threet out

By Dan Feldman, written on Nov. 21, 2008

Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez said today redshirt sophomore right tackle Stephen Schilling and redshirt freshman quarterback Steven Threet won’t play against Ohio State tomorrow.

Redshirt freshman Perry Dorrestein will replace Schilling, who was injured in practice this week. Redshirt sophomore Nck Sheridan will make his third straight start in place of Threet.

Freshman Justin Feagin will backup Sheridan. Feagin, who has only been used as a runner, got more reps in practice this week than any before.

“We’ll get him in a flow like we did a few weeks ago, and hopefully he’ll be able to contribute some,” Rodriguez.

Freshman running back Sam McGuffie and junior running back Minor will play. Minor or junior running back Carlos Brown will start against the Buckeyes, depending on the Wolverines’ initial offensive strategy.

Rodriguez said this week’s practice went “really well.”

“It was a little nostalgic, I guess, yesterday being our seniors’ really last practice,” Rodriguez said.
