Kampfer back on the ice

Michigan coach Red Berenson said that junior defenseman Steve Kampfer is back skating on the ice before practices. Though the junior is not practicing with the team, he is skating with full pads.
“We’ll see he how he handles skating by himself, what the implications are with him skating by himself, he will not practice this week,” Berenson said.
Kampfer will not make the trip to Minnesota and Wisconsin and it is still unclear when he will rejoin the team for practice and for games.
Kampfer was injured in October in an off ice incident and wore a neck brace until last week. His presence has been sorely missed along with that of senior captain Mark Mitera. Both were expected to be anchors of the Michigan defense.
